Answers to common questions, and how to reach us.
Getting started
- Lean your phone against something about six feet (2 m) away, screen facing you.
- Stand in view for a second while the app calibrates to you.
- Kick up. The camera starts the timer, or just say “go”.
- Come down, or say “stop”. Your time, a clip and your next target are saved.
No. Without an account everything is saved on your phone. Sign in with Apple, Google or email when you want to back up your practice, use it on another device, bring over your Handstand Quest history, or use the AI coach features as they become available.

Yes. Open You (the profile button on Today), then Voice words, and add your own start and stop words. The built-in words keep working. Words are heard by an English speech recognizer, so short words that sound distinct work best. Try yours in a practice session.
- Check that Inversion Quest has microphone access and, on iPhone, speech recognition access.
- Speak toward the phone, a little louder than normal, and keep loud music a step down.
- On iPhone, with AirPods or other headphones, turn on You, Use headphone microphone. Recognition gets better, but Bluetooth audio switches to call quality while it is on.
- You can always tap instead.
No. Your music keeps playing, and the coach’s voice plays over it.
No. The studio coach voice is AI-generated. It was recorded for Inversion Quest, ships inside the app and works offline. You can switch to one of your phone’s voices, and choose how much the coach talks: Minimal, Standard or Chatty.
Permissions
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Camera | Floor Mode: seeing when you go upside down, timing holds and recording clips. Frames are analyzed on your phone. |
| Microphone | Voice commands. Clips are recorded without sound. |
| Speech recognition (iPhone) | Turning what you say into commands, on the phone when it supports that. |
| Notifications | Practice reminders, asked for when you turn one on. |
| Add to Photos (iPhone) | Only when you choose Save in the share menu for a clip or share card. |
The rest of the app keeps working. Without the camera, start and stop holds with your voice or a tap; without the microphone, tap. You can change your mind in Settings, Inversion Quest on iPhone, or Settings, Apps, Inversion Quest, Permissions on Android.
Floor Mode tips
- About six feet (2 m) away, propped up so it can’t slide or fall, screen facing you.
- Your whole body in view, from your hands to your feet when you are upside down.
- Even light and a plain background help the camera see you.
- The screen stays on and dark, so you can read it from the floor.
Say “undo” to drop that attempt. Check that your whole body stays in view and that the phone hasn’t moved. If you’d rather control the timer yourself, turn off Auto-detect with camera in the practice setup and use your voice or a tap.
On your phone, not on our servers. Open a session to watch each attempt’s clip and share it if you like. To save space, turn off Clip every attempt in the practice setup, or delete sessions you don’t need.
Sync and sign-in
Sign in with Apple (on iPhone), Google or email. Your practice is saved on your phone first and then backed up. If you are offline, changes wait and upload when you reconnect. Sign in with the same account on another device to see the same practice there.
The app backs up what it can, warns you if anything couldn’t be backed up and offers to save a copy, then removes your practice from this phone. Sign in again to get it back.
On the email sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and we’ll email you a reset link.
Yes. Open You, then Your data, Export my data. You get a JSON file of your sessions, practice times, goals, custom exercises, workouts, plans, form reviews and profile.
Moving from Handstand Quest
Yes. Sign in with the account you use in Handstand Quest, then choose I use Handstand Quest on the welcome screen, or open You and choose Bring your Handstand Quest history. You see a preview first; tap Bring it over to copy it.
It brings your practice days, records, habits, goals, favorites, custom exercises, voice words and training profile, including any physical limitations you recorded there. Handstand Quest itself isn’t changed, and you can keep using it. You can re-sync later from You.
Purchases
Inversion Quest has no in-app purchases or subscriptions today. If that changes, purchases will go through the App Store or Google Play and you will see the price before you buy. Purchases you made in Handstand Quest stay with Handstand Quest.
Deleting your account
In the app, open You, then Your data, Delete account, and choose Delete Inversion Quest data or Delete account everywhere. Our account deletion page has the full steps, what each option deletes, and how to ask by email if you can’t use the app.
